Publishing
I had no idea when I decided to write a book that it would be as involved as it is. I thought that writing it was the hard part—haha. Still, I have found light at the end of the tunnel and look forward to cutting the cord and releasing my stories and collection of poems into the universe. My large novel, which I split into two books, will be released late this summer, and my poems will be released soon.
I used to obsess over grammar excessively. Many writers are shy, myself included, about publishing because of the harsh nature of critics. But thoughts need to be shared with the world. The message is what is essential. Armchair critics and generals suppress creativity. Critiquing should not be an excuse to be mean, belittle, or put down others. We should build each other up and encourage gently, not tear down. So, if you are thinking about writing—WRITE and ignore the noise!
I hope my work touches someone. They are pieces of my heart, so please be gentle. Words are the things that last forever, and the thought that there might be kindred spirits who are moved by mine is thrilling.
Blessings, Mae
