A Haunting Hymn from “Winds of Ericiel”

Excerpt from “Winds of Ericiel I - Prophecy” — Chapter 5 —

Adrian studied the Torthian cliffs across the harbor. The statue of a woman and a young girl was visible to ships approaching the city from a great distance.

Erected after the Dark Day, it was set against a half-circle of columns rising from a marble foundation with green-blue veins to mirror the sea below. They gleamed like beacons as they reflected the sun. The stone woman gazed at the sea, the young girl clinging to her. Their hair and dresses billowed behind them, frozen in time and stone.

Epigraph from Book I

Legends say there is a haunting hymn

In the winds that sweep over the hill.

The stone women whisper a promise,

“All is well. We’re at peace now; be still.”

Pass with peace, Mae
